“I found the Ocula mics to be very easy to rig and configure on their versatile mounts, and their sound quality is impressive — crisp, clear and detailed, with a wide bandwidth extending well to the lowest frequencies.
The ‘enhanced’ directionality courtesy of the spherical body is subtle but it definitely makes a worthwhile difference to the stereo imaging when the mics are angled outwards in a spaced array configuration.”
“The Braingasm Ocula is a well-designed and well-engineered product filling a particular niche in the market microphone very nicely indeed, and that alone guarantees its popularity. I’m sure the Braingasm Ocula will become a popular choice for anyone seeking omnidirectional microphones optimised for use in the diffuse field, with minimal size and weight. And for anyone contemplating buildinga Decca Tree array, the Ocula is a total no-brainer as it is perfectly optimised for that role and is capable of very good quality results.”

“The mics are well balanced and full sounding. We used it on acoustic guitar and it delivered a clear and very forward sound. The mics really helped out the sessions. We appreciate it immensely.”

“The ribbons sounded great on electric guitars and drums. Really big sounding with rich low end. Perfect for loud rock guitars. On drums the mics were well balanced and full sounding.
We also used the FET condenser on acoustic guitar and it delivered a clear and very forward sound.
The mics really helped out the sessions. We appreciate it immensely,
Well done. Joe C”

THE 615 SOUND
STEFAN KONSTANTOPOULOS - NASHVILLE
“I brought the Multideluxe into some sessions to use on vocals and guitar. I was highly impressed by the thoughtful design features and attention to detail but even more so, the sound. It does everything that a large-diaphragm, multi-pattern condenser needs to do but there is really a nice coherence to the tone and focus to the sound that is unlike other condensers of this type. Being slightly darker in tone, I found that I did not need to spend time messing around with positioning to mitigate excessive vocal sibilance. Better yet, I did not really feel like it needed a de-esser in the chain. It’s clean enough to be versatile and conveys a natural sound I really enjoy. This is one mic that I can use on every project!”

“When Magnitube arrived in my studio, the idea was to make a short video review to show his very unique features (variable impedance, THD control, built in de-esser). Once fired up i was so excited of the sound that the idea of a short review turned into a shootout, a direct comparison with the industry Neumann U87. Read more (italian)”
